Changes

Things are changing around here. We lost our big old shade tree. We had our 33rd anniversary. We ordered Thai Roses food. Brian is leaving for the mission field on Thursday. He will be going straight to the Philippines. He'll be gone for two whole years! My mom had a recurrence of cancer. Some changes I like; some changes I don't, but I love my family and I'm grateful for the gospel. That will never change.

Emma's quilt and jumper

I made this quilt and had fabric left over, so I made Emma a jumper too. I think it won't fit her for a while even if it is just past newborn size.

Baby quilts

Here are the quilts I made for Daisy and Squirt. The colors are a little off, for example, the orange lines in Daisy's blanket are really pink. It was fun making them. It's kind of like putting a puzzle together.

Shocking Blogger Return

I am making this new post to see if I still know how to post blogs.  Things have changed since I last wrote a blog post.  It took me a while to find a place where I could write anything.  I was thinking I could put pictures of the quilts I have been making/ have made for the new grandkids.  Maybe I can figure out how to do pictures!

Look!  I did it!  I even moved it!  This is really a glorious day!  Now I just need to figure out how to get the rest of the pictures on my phone to show up here.  I think I messed things up when I added Instagram to my iphone, but I could certainly be wrong.

Anyway that picture is from the Swan Island Dahlia Festival  which is not really on Swan Island.  It is in Canby.  We went last summer.  Dave and Milt rode their bikes out there and Amanda, Brian and I came in the car.  There is a barn basement filled with lots of arrangements of Dahlias and there are order forms available.  We were impressed with all the many different colors, sizes and shapes of dahlias.

This is a picture of Brian comapring some of the giant dahlias to his hand.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY?

Can you believe it? We have been married for 30 years today. What are we doing for our anniversary this year? Well, as usual, we kind of forgot about it. It is a Sunday though. Milt spoke in church today. He also has some responsibility for the Maplewood Ward Elder's Quorum Presidency, and has invited them to our home for dinner tonight. When I remembered that it is our anniversary and reminded him, he told me that he has arranged to have dinner brought in. He had invited them to bring salad and dessert. I must admit that it is looking like it will be one of the better celebrations we have had on our anniversary.

Like the time when we were at a ward picnic. Milt and Brian left early so that Brian could buy a parrot at the Bird Show. A day or so later, I realized that we had gotten a pet for our anniversary.

Or the time when several days (or weeks) had gone by before we realized that we had missed our anniversary.

Even though we don't always remember to celebrate on the right day, we are committed to each other and love each other even after all these years.
